about

Koto solo performed by Wichmann. Composed by Tsutomu Sakamoto in 1956, the piece is unique because of it's Middle Eastern-ish tuning - unique at the time. 流離い Sasurai is an older poetic term related to something that wanders (e.g. bird, exile, lifestyle). It has been used to specifically describe a wandering person who roams, sometimes on a quest or in exile, with the connotation that he has no place to call home.
